In an era when energy conservation and ecological awareness top the list of concerns, one way of contributing your mite to the cause is by incorporating some of these environment friendly methods into your daily life. What better way to do this than by installing solar powered garden lights!
Solar lighting and regular lighting are similar and the only aspect they differ in is that you don’t have to pay a hefty electric bill every month for lighting up your lovely garden, not to mention initial wiring costs. These lights have solar panels that store the sun’s energy to be used later. Solar lights can be either amber or white and provide a soft glowing touch.
As is the case with regular lights, solar lights are also available in a variety of shapes and sizes to suit all needs and budgets-whether you need them to illuminate your pathway or your patio or the steps down to the garden or even the pool. Floodlights, post top lights, spotlights, stringed lights, and many more are available. Flexible spotlight kits are a good choice if you feel that your garden or yard does not get sufficient sunlight evenly to charge all the solar lights. These spotlights can be adjusted so that they catch the most sunlight during the day.
Some research about the various brands available in the market might give you a better idea when making your final choice. Choose your lights based on what you will use them for. For instance, if your aim is to set the ambience rather than illumination, then you could go in for multi-hued lights which will increase the aesthetic value of your garden. Most solar lights when fully charged can go on for about six to eight hours. Find out if the lights you buy satisfy this condition. If you want to highlight your beautifully trimmed trees or hedges, stringed lights or hanging lights may be a good option.
Make sure your illuminated garden looks beautiful from the outside as well as from inside your house. Looking out at a peaceful, softly illuminated space can relax the mind at the end of a stressful, hectic day. As with many other things, the adage “the more you pay the better quality you get" holds true. But hopefully, with the advances being made in the area of solar lighting, very soon the obstacles will be conquered and good quality will come at a cheaper rate.
